Project
People who are socially, economically, culturally, politically, institutionally or otherwise marginalized are particularly vulnerable to climate change as well as to some adaptation and mitigation strategies. (IPCC – Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change).
Social & Nature
SOCIAL & NATURE is a project, developed by 6 partners in 4 different European countries (Belgium, France, Greece, Italy), funded under Erasmus + Strategic Partnerships for vocational education and training.
Its aim, through the training of learning mediators and social workers, is the prevention and climate changes’ mitigation of environmental disasters, which impact significantly on groups that already are socially, economically and culturally vulnerable.
Specific objectives
- Create a transnational consortium to build a European framework for the training of trainers working in the social sector (social policies and assistance for training and job placement) and act as mediators and facilitators towards vulnerable groups, strengthening their ability to deal with the problem of natural hazards and the consequences of climate change
- Produce didactic tools, simple and easily transferable in the various territorial contexts to be used by training centres and institutions that are responsible for social policies.

- IO1.LOCAL STAKEHOLDERS GUIDE, mapping public and private bodies involved in the topic, with a targeted communication strategy to implement their interest and commitment and – at the same time -collect Good Practices

- IO3. E-COURSE ON CLIMATE CHANGE PHENOMENA AND THEIR CONSEQUENCES IN EUROPE, aimed at trainers and those working in the social sector (in 4 languages: English, French, Italian and Greek)
- IO4. E-COURSE ON SOCIAL COHESION THROUGH COLLECTIVE ACTION, aimed at future social workers and mediators involved in cross-cultural and multi-professional territorial animation (in 4 languages: English, French, Italian and Greek)
- IO5. TOOL BOX / EDUCATIONAL KIT ON SOCIAL WORKER FACING CLIMATE CHANGE, aimed at trainers and those working in the social sector (in 4 languages: English, French, Italian and Greek)
Planned activities
- Joint staff training of 12 operators / trainers from France, Italy, Greece and on the following topics: adaptation of the population to climate changes; strategies for the reduction of territorial vulnerability.
- Local dissemination of the experience and methodologies used in the different countries, though face to face meetings and remote communication (web, social media …)
- Final event with conference in Brussels
